Peace be with you, my friends! I can’t believe the summer is half over. We are fast approaching the busiest time of the year for all spiritual workers, the late summer and fall. In August, we have the Feast of the Hungry Ghosts followed by the Harvest Moon and mid-Autumn lunar festival in September and of course Halloween, All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days in October and November. The preparation for all of these holidays really begins now and things don’t slow down until November. But that’s perfectly fine because it brings me tremendous happiness to be close to my spirits and saints during all of these wonderful festivities. Recently, I went to Italy with my friend Flaviu for a few days. We were mostly in the south of Italy in and around Salerno. We had the privilege of spending a day in Pompeii, an ancient city that was destroyed by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. Following are a few pictures from the Pompeii ruins.
Pompeii, an ancient city destroyed by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD
In a very short amount of time the entire city was covered by an avalanche of volcanic rock and ash and thousands of people perished. The city was discovered once again in the early 18th century and has been in excavation ever since. The victims of Mt. Vesuvius’s eruption were entombed in fiery ash and many centuries later it was discovered that if workers poured plaster into cavities in the earth, an exact replica of a person would emerge once the dirt and ash were cleared away. Today you can see these statues of the former residents of Pompeii during their final moments of life in Pompeii and various museums throughout Italy.
Both Flaviu and I are psychics and mediums so naturally when visiting the Pompeii ruins we were bombarded by images from other time periods and we both got the impression that many former inhabitants of Pompeii are still there reliving the days before the eruption and they often catch glimpses of tourists shuffling through their homes when the veil between the spiritual and physical worlds wears thin. At the temple of Isis I sensed the ghost of a Roman girl making an offering at the ruined altar. I knew psychically that her name was Claudia. She walked passed more and spoke some words in Latin that I did not understand, but I knew that she was making the offering to Isis so that she could get out of an arranged marriage that she was dreading. I also knew that Claudia, her finance that she did not love and indeed her entire family died in the eruption before the wedding could take place. I said a prayer for her soul to find peace and I hope she now has found that a better world awaits her far from the ruins of Pompeii.
I hope you enjoy the photos of Pompeii. I just wanted to share a few words about my trip with you and now I will return to work preparing for the spiritual festivities of the weeks and months to come. Until next time, I wish you peace, love and an abundance of blessings.
Saint Cyprian
Peace be with you, my friends! I can’t believe that July is half over. I’ve been incredibly busy with my latest writing project, planning several courses on various spiritual topics and redesigning my website. I just wanted to take a few minutes today to write about an interesting saint that I’ve worked with quite a bit in the past, but over the last several years has fallen out of my normal repertoire: St. Cyprian. He has been popping up quite often in consultations and in my personal meditations.
His feast day is the 16th of September.
Saint Cyprian is definitely invoked in Voodoo and in Southern Hoodoo in the United States, but he is found to a much greater extent in Latin-American folk magic. He is the patron saint of good witches who use their power for health, love and protection and he offers protection to his devotees against curses and evil forms of witchcraft. In Galicia, in north western Spain, there is rumored to exist a secret grimoire attributed to this saint called the San Criprianillo that contains his powerful spells and ceremonies and it is said to circulated among the “meigas,” Galicia’s famous witchcraft who practice under a veil of secrecy.
Cyprian’s association with witchcraft is unclear, as he was a bishop of the early church in North Africa and according to historical texts did not have any association with witches or magical practitioners. I feel that this association with spiritual light workers is a sign of Divine Love for all who do good and his protection against evil spirits and curses is a sign that good will always overcome evil.
His feast day is the 16th of September. Spiritually speaking, mid-September is a powerful time of year since the 14th is the Elevation of the Holy Cross, the 15th is the Feast of the Mother of Sorrows associated with Erzulie Freda and the 16th is St. Cyprian. He is a simple yet powerful saint and does not require elaborate offerings or complicated ceremonies. You can simply light a purple or red candle to him and ask for his blessing and protection. It’s certainly never hurts to have more saints on our side!
I hope you have enjoyed this brief post. I intend to blog more intensely about St. Cyprian in the future. Now it’s time to get back to my list of endless projects and tasks. As always, I wish you peace, love and an abundance of blessings!
Books and Spiritual Holidays
Peace be with you, my friends! June was a whirlwind of a month as it always is, with the Feast of St. John. It was truly a magical night and we ended up making over 200 offerings to the spirits and saints. After a week of rest and recuperation, I am finally back to operating at full speed. Today I wanted to take the time to mention that I have two books available for purchase on amazon.com -
Voodoo Love Magic and The November Vampires.
Today I wanted to take the time to mention that I have two books available for purchase on amazon.com. Voodoo Love Magic which is a compilation of traditional love spells and rituals and information regarding saints and spirits you might invoke for help in matters of love. The book also contains Voodoo stories and tidbits of folklore from Louisiana and the Caribbean.
The second is a short novel entitled The November Vampires that takes place in modern day New England and in Transylvania at the end of World War I. Above all it is a supernatural love story fused with elements of vampirism and witchcraft. Both of these books are priced at only $.99. If you decide to purchase one or both of them, I would appreciate a kind review. (Yes, it’s a shameless plug.) I will also give free copies of the book upon request for anyone who orders a service from me.
July is a much more relaxing month as there are no major spiritual holidays. The feast day of my special patron Saint Martha falls of the 29th and of course I will be making a service to her then. In August I celebrate the Festival of the Hungry Ghosts and in September the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival. These are all wonderful, profoundly spiritual celebrations, but much more relaxing and less intense than St. John’s Night. I will be blogging more about each of them in weeks to come.
I hope you are all enjoying the summer and as I always I wish you peace, happiness and a multitude of blessings.
Saint John’s Night
Peace be with you my friends! This is an extremely busy time of year as I make the preparations for my annual Saint John's Eve (also known as Saint John's Night) service which begins the afternoon of the 23rd of June and continues until dawn on the 24th.
Saint John's Night is the night before the Feast of Saint John (the Baptist) which celebrates his birth.
All Voodoo doctors and queens hold services this Saint John’s night, which is the most powerful of the year for doing any kind of spiritual work as the veil between the physical and spiritual worlds is at its thinnest. Today I would like to share a link to an article I’ve written about the Feast of Saint John with a video of Mambo Sallie Glassman of New Orleans performing the service on Saint John’s night. You can read the article here.
I am still taking orders for spiritual work and offerings to be made on Saint John’s night so, if you’d like to place and order, please contact me.
I hope you enjoy the video and the article and if over the next few days you decide you’d like an offering made on your behalf at this most magical on services, please send me a message.
May peace, love and the sweetest of blessings rain down on you!
Lucky Bath Recipe
Peace be with you, my friends! June is here already and High Summer is fast approaching. This is a wonderful time of year when things slow down, school ends, people go on vacation and enjoy the warm weather. At least for most people, this is an extremely busy time of year of all Voodoo Doctors and Queens. Also, St. John’s Eve, the most powerful night of the year for doing spiritual work falls on the night of June 23rd. I will be hosting my annual service then and am now taking orders for people interested in having work done on that night. Later this month I will post an article about the traditions and beliefs associated with this most sacred and powerful of nights. Please don’t hesitate to contact me!
I wish you all peace and abundant blessings!
Today, I wanted to share with you a spiritual bath I made recently with a friend of mine for an acquaintance of ours who is having financial difficulty. It is the lucky bath recipe. The bath is a combination of five powerful money drawing herbs. Below is the recipe for this bath. If you decide to give it a try, please share your experience with me!
Alex’s Money Bath
Orange Peels-In China, the orange is seen as a symbol of good luck and prosperity and is commonly eaten at Chinese New Year and other major festivals.
Orange Leaves-Contains potent powers of good luck and prosperity.
Bay Leaves-Ancient Greeks and Romans viewed bay leaves as a symbol of accomplishment and high rankings. They also promote success in matters of love.
Basil-A good luck herb in many parts of Eastern Europe. Orthodox priests in Romania use bunches of basil dipped in holy water to bless people and locations.
Ginger Fresh or Dried-A fiery, hot spice used to give you a burst on instant cash.
Add all the ingredients to a pot of boiling water. Allow mixture to boil for seven minutes.
As the mixture boils, place your hands over the pot, at a safe enough distance so that you do not burn yourself, and imagine all your financial needs being met and money just flowing abundantly into your life. Meditate for the 7 minutes that the mixture boils.
Allow the mixture to cool and add to your bath water or pour directly over your head in the shower.
Orange peel and ginger can be irritants, so if you have sensitive skin, you may sprinkle the liquid around your home instead of using it to bath.
