Peace be with you, my friends! I just wanted to take this opportunity to write about a subject that I have been thinking about for quite some time. It seems that everywhere I look the world seems to be getting angrier and more aggressive. Terrorism is spreading like a rash, rogue nations are developing nuclear weapons and even nature itself seems to be rebelling with earthquakes, hurricanes and massive flooding. I realize that these things can be explained by world politics and global warming, but I can't help but feeling that there is also an underlying spiritual cause.
We should try to approach each day with a positive attitude.
In day to day life I notice people being rude or snappy to each other. Within the past week I’ve seen a grocery store cashier get into a screaming match with a customer and an incident of road rage where two men were physically attacking each other on the side of the highway. Anger and unhappiness seem to be everywhere! I think much of this could be avoided if we all relearn what we were taught in kindergarten: be polite, say “please” and “thank you” and be patient when dealing with people. I’m not saying we have to take crap from people who are rude to us, but we should be careful not to let our bad moods effect how we interact with other people and we should try to approach each day with a positive attitude.
Also, I recommend that people take a bath in some salt water at least once a month to absorb any negative energy and keep some holy water or spiritual perfume in the house to bless themselves occasionally. This is even more true for spiritual people like us since we deal with and take on energy every day to a greater degree than most people. Treating people with kindness is something we can all do. I think that if we take these small steps and try to live a positive life based on love and peace, we will all be rewarded with the most amazing blessings!
